Social Primer for Brooks Brothers Bow Ties

0

Brooks Brothers, the iconic American brand, launches a bow tie collection just in time for the summer season with socialprimer.com’s founder, K. Cooper Ray. Exclusively designed and inspired by Brooks Brothers’ heritage of mixing vivid patterns and colors, the Social Primer for Brooks Brothers Bow Tie Collection is an innovative and playful take on the classic. The American made bow ties (manufactured at Brooks Brothers’ tie factory in Long Island City, NY) have been re-imagined with a traditional yet irreverent perspective.  Using pure silk or cotton fabrics, the collection features reversible styles that create not one but many ways to wear the bow tie. See the full collection here.

“Bow ties have become increasingly popular and Cooper’s sense of style and his interpretation of an iconic, classic item have brought a new dimension to the Brooks Brothers bow tie assortment”, said Jeff Blee, Brooks Brothers Divisional Merchandise Manager for Men’s Furnishings.

“Working with Brooks Brothers has been a dream for me,” said K. Cooper Ray. “I am honored that such an esteemed retailer would offer me the opportunity to collaborate on this project.”

Offered in 16 reversible styles that alternate from Repp stripes to polka dots, floral patterns to nautical flags and the summer-must have seersucker reversing to madras plaid; the bow ties evoke a charismatic, whimsical twist, which adds a perfect touch to any gentleman’s wardrobe. The bow ties have been created in the same spirit of other notable Brooks Brothers items including the iconic, multicolored, “Fun Shirt.”

Brooks Brothers and Social Primer will celebrate the collaboration with a series of in-store events at Brooks Brothers locations including Charleston, New Orleans and Los Angeles. Joining K. Cooper Ray at the ‘kick-off’ on Wednesday, May 19th at the 346 Madison Avenue flagship in New York City will be a host committee including Emilia Fanjul Pfeifler, Jamee & Peter Gregory, Lucy & Euan Rellie, Luigi Tadini, Amanda Hearst and Celerie Kemble & Boykin Curry.

The Social Primer for Brooks Brothers Bow Tie collection features a co-branded label and retails for $59.50 and is available for purchase online at www.brooksbrothers.com and select Brooks Brothers retail stores nationwide. The collaboration will extend with a second collection for fall 2010.

So here it is. The thing I’ve been talking about so cryptically for a while now. I hope you like them. I will admit that I think they are sharp as a tack. The ties are shown here contrasting sides to illustrate the reversibility for the catalog, but you can wear them as conservatively (straight on with only a hint of the reverse) or eccentrically as you like. In the end, you get two ties for the price of one. Great Style and Common Sense. Isn’t that what it’s all about anyway? Enjoy.  This is a limited run so go get them while you can before they sell out. Here. Once you’ve got your new tie, print out this diagram and tape it to your mirror. It’s easy and you’ll be a master in no time.

  4. When are you coming to Charleston? I assume you’ll be going to the Brooks Brothers store downtown and not at the outlet mall?

    Congratulations.
