We are inundated with images of celebrities and athletes who run the flashbulb gauntlet at awards shows or squire around super models to premieres, but what SP wants to know is, who are the best dressed men in America who are doing it for themselves? Not with a pricey stylist or a high fashion label’s backing, but real men making real choices and pulling it off with aplomb. Who are the men making an effort in Cleveland? Who is the bon vivant of Birmingham? The dandy of Deerborne? Alright, you get the message.
Announcing today, SP will accept nominations from readers for the man (or men) in your community who rise to the challenge by eschewing the temptation of Casual Fridays. Please remember the SP mantra: You do not have to be rich to live the good life. This isn’t about a million dollar wardrobe. This is about natural, classic style. Some of my favorite (and most dashing, I might add) articles of clothing have come from the thrift shop. The style can range from casual to black tie, although it’s far more interesting to see how a man pulls it off when he has to pull it together on his own.
And since classic style encompasses more than just a great fit on a sharp jacket, let’s hear what else makes the man. We definitely want to know where in the country he resides and anything else that makes this man stand out from the crowd. Include a recent photo, of course. We will begin compiling the nominees and make an announcement soon as to when nominations will close. And there could be a very nice reward at the end, but we’re still working on that. So for now, just submit your nomination for the love of the game, ok?
